UNICEF and its aims and objectives

 


This logo was taken from UNICEF which was called United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. It was established in 1946. The words 'international and emergency' were later dropped. Everyone knows that children need a good start and a chance to lead active and useful lives as adults. The aim of UNICEF is to cooperate with developing countries in their efforts to improve the conditions of their children and youth and prepare them to contribute to the progress of their society.

The aims and objectives of the UNICEF:

1.The main aim of the UNICEF is to provide humanitarian and development assistance to children and mothers. Ithas effective partnerships with governments and non-governmental organisations, through which it works towards bringing practical solutions to the women and children who are at risk.

2.The UNICEF is committed to ensure that all children and mothers are able to access the knowledge of how to prevent HIV infection and also to provide adequate treatment, care and support to the ones with the infection.

3.The UNICEF works towards ensuring that the children worldwide get proper vaccines. Therefore, immunisation is one of the key focus areas of UNICEF.

4.The UNICEF assists in the control of diseases which are responsible for mortality among mothers and children, such as vitamin deficiencies, anaemia, trachoma, etc.

5.A large part of UNICEF assistance is in the form of equipment and supplies. Depending on the type of projects, UNICEF may provide equipment and drugs for child health services. The UNICEF also provides technical services for food conservation.
